Would George and Leannie survive in todays world better than in their world?
Now and days people who are mentally challenged  have better care. We have nurses, medicine that is more advanced at least. People now and days have a better understanding for people who are mental and their justice is better than back in the day.

During the 1990's 'til today we have nurses who stay and take care or watch over people who are challenged, if they don't have a family. If Leannie was around during this time period. I believe his life would have been a little better. In my opinion the time period Leannie is living in probably would put him in jail, or in an asylum. Since we have more sympathy for people like that, we wouldn't be so hard on him. We now have nurses who try and help them. George would be happy because he wouldn't have to worry about Leannie ruining thing's for him.

Medicine is such an big evolution during out time period. When most people are sick, many believe that drugs is the way to go. Sometimes but not in all situations. If Leannie were to take drugs, he would probably control not doing everything that pop's up in his head and actually think before he act. Yet another way life could be easier for George and for Leannie. George would be able to hold a job with Leannie by his side and both could be successful. But in different way's.

Last but not least  people's sympathy are bigger than people back then If it was on the news that a big man touching on a girls dress you'll think "creepy". But when they announce that he is challenged. People  would be like "okay he can't help it". But he still needs help. Unlike during their time they would have thought of him as a threat. Because he's big and can not control himself.  So he wouldn't have no say so and throw him in jail or an insane asylum. During the year 2009 I believe he has more justice.

To sum it all up. If Leannie was in our time I think life would be a little easier for Leannie and George. Today we have Nurses who take care of them when you can't at the time. Or more people have more of an understanding. That they wouldn't think that he is the way he is on purpose. Last which should be the last thing people should have to come to is to give him or her medicine. It would help them but it would also become a habit for them.  So don't make that a choice, unless you really have to. After reading this do you to think that Leannie would had survive in this time period than in his own?

4 between the line questions=40 points

1. Does George really care about Leannie or is he just using him.

I really do belive that george cares about leannie because if he didn't he wouldn't ahve kept
Leannie around all this time. If george didn't care all the times that Leannie messed up he
wouldn't have helped him. Groge just could have let him get caught and be hunged, put into jailed, or even worse. In my opinion Ireally do belive that george cares. Another way you can telll is because he is never afraid to be around him or claim him as afriend or as his brother. So yes Gorge does care for Leannie.

2. Why is it that Leannie is so interested for animals?

In my opinion I think Leannie has it real bad for animals because he can relate to them. How? Simply because animals are underestimated. When people think of animals they think below the food chain. What do I mean? People see animals as small creatures that nobaody care as much for because they're not as important as humans are. Leannie can relate to that.
Most people dont care about others who are slower than the rest.
All they know is that he is stupid and he wouldn't matter if he was dead because
he's not important as the rest of "humans who are not dumb." That in my opinion
is why I believe that Leannie has such an interest in animals.

3. Do Curley really love his wife or is he just married to her because she's a trophy?

Curley only has her around because he use her as an trophy. Because Curley is small he feels as though that he needs to prove a point. So he trains in boxing to make him feel as though that he is a man. When really he just as small now then when he started out.  So now that "feels" like a man he wants her to complete his image. To me Curley is a punk and he doesn't give a damn about his wife. When Leannie accidently killed his wife he didn't even say i'll stay here with her while the rest of you go get her. He was happy to get Leannie now because he killed his "wife". And now not only because he's bigger than him.

4. Why did George kill Leannie himself and didn't let somebody else do it?

George killed Leannie because he felt as though that nobody should kill his friend. They didn't know him and george didn't want anybody doing what he should do. It is actually the same wit candy. He told george that he shouldn't let no stranger kill his dog he should had. That stuck wit him. He felt the same. That nobody should kill his friend. If there is no other way for Leannie to get away. then George should have the honor to let his friend be free.
